Moving Out!
We are taking the joy of living in carefully designed environments, the fruit of a studied decision where comfort and elegance are equally important, outside, that is, to gardens, squares, parks and onto our terraces. . This is the spirit behind the partnership between IL CASONE, METALCO (urban furniture and home lines), FRASSINAGODICIOTTO (design and creation of outdoor spaces) and PRATIC (awnings and pergolas for outdoor use).
The four companies are taking part in Fuori Salone 2012, an unprecedented exhibition that fuses design experience, excellent raw materials and innovative products, which have been designed to provide outdoor environments with the same level of comfort and attention to detail that characterise our home interiors.. Moving out! is therefore an invitation to get back to nature, but also and especially to reinvent the concept of the outdoor space, making it an integral part of our daily lives. The identity shared by the four companies is readily apparent in Moving out!: clean lines, attention to detail, careful selection of materials and essentially modern environments. The exhibition is set in a prestigious location: the former San Carpoforo church, at the heart of the Brera district - a reference of Milanese design and the area with the highest density of showrooms, galleries, venues and spaces dedicated to art and culture.
Moving out! is in fact a part of Arts and Craft, the event designed by architect Roberto Semprini, who intends to bring the work of man and his wellbeing to the fore, focusing on the quality tailoring of products.



The environments
Moving out! welcomes visitors as soon as they arrive in the square in front of the church, with an open-air oasis that invites you to relax, including sofas, benches, flower boxes and displays, illustrating the path that leads inside.
In the most spectacular part of the former San Carpoforo church (the transept and apse), 4 different environments have been created, each of which representing a different space where indoor-outdoor living can be enjoyed - squares, gardens, terraces, and studios with patio.

Some IL CASONE products in the Moving Out! exhibition
- Pietra forte fiorentina®
Compactness, tenacity, beauty: these are the hallmarks of Pietra Forte Fiorentina. Its features, still visible in the ramparts of the Firenzuola fortress, are used today by IL CASONE, which, with the Cava del Vecchio, gives continuity to a timeless material. PIETRA FORTE FIORENTINA® is sandstone with a characteristic bluish-grey colour. This is type of a rock without cavities and microcracks, especially suited to architectural facades. Il Casone’s experience has led to a series of new surface processing techniques for PIETRA FORTE FIORENTINA® which, alongside more traditional finishes such as “polished”, “sandblasted” or “bush hammered”, offer architects a new range of surfaces with unique visual and tactile sensations.
- Surface
Valuable, sought after, the result of specific research into the new tactility and texture of stone materials: the stones in the SURFACES line unite the tones and texture of materials, through new processes designed for both indoor and outdoor environments. Silk, Damask. Bottonato, Cotton, Brocade, Hemp.
- DeckingStone
Designed for flooring terraces or garden borders, Decking Stone is the Pietra Extraforte paving slab, designed as a natural stone alternative to the classic wooden plank. The slabs, available in two finishes, "sandblasted" or “flamed”, are 4cm thick and measure 18x150cm or 18x300cm.
They can be laid traditionally, applying the necessary adhesive straight onto prefabricated screed with grouting, or by using height-adjustable supports for raised flooring.
