Kengo Kuma
Exhibition on display in Padua through January 27
It is the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who is featured in the third edition of the International Biennial for Architecture “Barbara Cappochin”, with an exhibit being shown in the main halls of the Palazzo della Ragione.
Titled “Due carpe: acqua/terra - villaggio/città – Fenomenologie”, the exhibit presents a moving evolution which begins with one of the architectural symbols of Medieval Padua and proceeds to the secrets of antique Japanese traditions.
Two immense sculpture-structures in the form of a carp fish, constructed in organza and visible from the inside, together with a pedestal of illuminated glass, act as projection screens for the most celebrated works of art by Kengo Kuma. They perfectly illustrate the professional and artistic development of the Japanese master. Evident are his passion for natural materials including wood and stone and his attention to reach harmony between his works and the environment.
The evocative exhibit is on display through January 27th from Tuesday to Sunday 9:00am – 6:00pm. (Admission required.) For additional information: architettipadova@awn.it
