An intense, rather dark grey which is associated with a particular resistance and strong physical and mechanical characteristics which make this stone especially useful for exteriors or spaces subject to a high amount of wear and tear.
Grigio d'istria ©
The Grigio d’Istria is especially used for large surfaces.
It is a sandstone characterised by the high productivity of its quarries, its workability and its resistance to exterior forces. The “grey” denomination comes from its balanced pigmentation which gives this sandstone a clear chromatic identity.
Pietra forte fiorentina ©
Solidity, strength, and beauty: these are the features of the Pietra Forte Fiorentina, the preferred material of Antonio da Sangallo the Elder at the end of the 15th century.
These characteristics made it the stone of choice for the battlements of Firenzuola, still standing today. This timeless material continues to be extracted by IL CASONE from the Cava del Vecchio quarry for today’s customers.
